Baseball is back, and MLB Network¡¯s offseason morning show, Hot Stove, is ready to celebrate the start of a new season with a special live edition.
Wednesday¡¯s episode of Hot Stove will broadcast live from 9-11 a.m. ET from the MLB Flagship Store at MLB headquarters in New York City. The store will open at 9 a.m. -- one hour earlier than usual -- on Wednesday for fans who are interested in watching the program in-person.
The show, featuring longtime co-hosts Matt Vasgersian, Harold Reynolds and Lauren Shehadi, is scheduled to have live guest appearances from comedian Roy Wood Jr., legendary pitcher Doc Gooden, Commissioner Rob Manfred and Bill Nye the Science Guy. Special ¡°Baseball is Back¡± messages will be shared from stars such as Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Manny Machado and others throughout the program.
¡°We spend the entire offseason talking about roster moves and other things that get fans excited, so now to be doing the show with all the logos around us at MLB headquarters in the heart of New York City, it¡¯s going to make everyone feel that much closer to the start of Spring Training,¡± Vasgersian said.
Hot Stove has hit the road before, including for MLB¡¯s annual Winter Meetings and for MLB¡¯s DREAM Series last month in Arizona. But this will be the first time that MLB Network has produced a studio program from the MLB Flagship Store, which opened in October 2020.
¡°It¡¯s exciting any time baseball is back,¡± Reynolds said, ¡°but to kick things off at MLB¡¯s headquarters in the Big Apple makes it even more special.¡±
