Vice President, Assistant General Manager & Baseball Legal Counsel
Damon Jones enters his third season as Vice President, Assistant General Manager & Baseball Legal Counsel. In his role, Jones assists President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman and Executive Vice President & General Manager Brandon Gomes in all facets of baseball operations. He also brings legal expertise to bear on any matters touching baseball operations. Prior to joining the Dodgers, Jones spent 13 seasons with the Washington Nationals, where he was Senior Vice President & General Counsel for Baseball & Business Operations and served as a senior member of the baseball operations department with a focus on player acquisitions and contracts, salary arbitration, Basic Agreement and Major League rules issues, international and minor league operations, league relations, and other key elements of baseball operations. Jones also was a senior member of the Nationals business executive team, and later served as Chief Legal Officer of the Washington Commanders.
Jones is an alumnus of Harvard Law School, the Wharton School, and the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he played Division I Baseball and was recently selected to the UCSB Athletics Hall of Fame as the ¡°Distinguished Gaucho.¡±
