Made two starts during the spring and did not allow a run before he was shut down with a shoulder injury¡tossed 3.0 innings and allowed two hits and a walk while striking out two¡resumed throwing shortly before camp was halted and was pitching again when camp resumed in July¡ however, began the season on the injured list as he was placed on the 10-day IL July 20 with a strained left shoulder¡resumed throwing at the A¡¯s alternate camp in August but was shut down again in early September¡was transferred to the 45-day IL on Sept. 14 and underwent surgery on the left shoulder on Sept. 16 at the Kerlan-Job Clinic in Los Angeles, Calif¡the surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who also did his ¡°Tommy John¡± surgery in 2018¡was rated as the A¡¯s number two prospect by Baseball America following the season.
