Here is a current medical update on several rehabbing players and one new update (Nic Enright)
Sam Hentges: Sam is currently five months post right shoulder anterior capsule repair performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache (9/18/2024). He is progressing through his post-operative rehab program as scheduled and is likely to begin a return to throw progression in March. The timeframe for full recovery from an anterior capsule repair is typically 12-to-14 months.
Daniel Espino: Daniel is currently 11 months post right shoulder anterior capsule revision repair performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. He continues to progress through his rehab and throwing progression in alignment with his surgeon¡¯s originally projected timeline. At this juncture, we plan for him to return to game activity in the 16-to-18-month timeframe post-operative.
Nic Enright: Nic is currently recovering from a low-grade strain of his right latissimus dorsi muscle. He is likely to resume throwing in the upcoming week with a projected full return to game activity in April.
Shane Bieber: Shane has continued to progress through his return to throwing program at the Arizona Complex, as he recovers from right ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction in April 2024. Shane has been able to progress his throwing to five days per week and his throwing distance out to 120¡¯. Shane will initiate his mound progression in mid-February.
Trevor Stephan: Trevor has also progressed in his return to throw program at the Arizona Complex, as he recuperates from his right ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, which was performed in March 2024. Trevor has been able to progress his throwing distance to 120¡¯ and is currently throwing five days per week. Trevor will likely begin his mound progression later in the month of February.
George Valera: George is 19 weeks post-operative following right knee patellar tendon repair and is progressing well. George has been able to successfully add throwing and hitting into his progression, soft toss swings and throwing out to 75¡¯. George is expected to begin running on-field this week. We expect George to begin taking batting practice in the upcoming week and progressing into defensive drill work by March.
David Fry: David has continued to progress through his rehabilitation program at the Arizona Complex, as he recovers from a right ulnar collateral ligament revision in October 2024. David will submit to an interval re-check with Dr. Meister in early March to determine next steps. David continues to respond well to his current rehabilitation program.
