The Phillies Winter Tour continued today as one of the top performing schools in the Phanatic About Reading program presented by Xfinity had a special visit from the Phillie Phanatic and his friends!
More than 300 students at St. Mary Interparochial School in Philadelphia were treated to a surprise visit by players Kody Clemens, Buddy Kennedy, Orion Kerkering, Cristopher S¨¢nchez and Weston Wilson, who read and acted out scenes from the Phanatic¡¯s book, The Phillie Phanatic¡¯s Hero.
Over 164,000 students participate in the Phanatic About Reading program each year, which encourages students in grades Pre-K through 8 to read or be read to for a minimum of 15 minutes a day to improve their literacy skills.
