Tanner Nicholas Dodson was originally signed by Rays scout Alan Hull…graduated from Jesuit High School (Carmichael, Calif.)…attended the University of California where he went 8-12 with 16 saves and a 3.81 ERA in 57 appearances on the mound while batting .310 with four home runs and 53 RBI in 128 games…his father Bo played professionally, reaching as high as Triple-A…Bo hit .328 with 13 home runs and 59 RBI in 77 games for Sacramento in the Western League in 1999.

Spent the entire season at Triple-A Oklahoma City and was 3-3 with a save, a 3.32 ERA and .724 opponents OPS in 41 games, including one start...Allowed a .239 opponents batting average, which was his lowest since his rookie season (.143 in 2018)…however, walked a career-high tying 43 batters in 62.1 innings for a .370 on base percentage...Had a career-high seven wild pitches...Yielded just three home runs, an average of 0.43 per nine innings...His opponents batting average broke down to .213 (19-for-89) with a .667 OPS against lefthanded hitters compared to .255 (37-for-145) with a .759 OPS against right-handers…surrendered all three of his home runs to righties...Allowed 8-of-19 (42.1%) inherited runners to score…first batters faced were 4-for-35 (.114) with five walks (.225 on-base percentage)...Had an ERA of 2.53 or lower in every month except June (9.00)...Posted a 0.69 ERA in the fifth inning (13.0 ip) but had a 9.28 ERA in the sixth inning (10.2 ip)...Tossed at least one inning in 37 of his 41 appearances…had 17 outings of two or more innings.
