Daniel Shawn Susac¡graduated from Jesuit (Roseville, Calif.) High School¡attended the University of Arizona where he batted .351 with 24 home runs and 126 RBI in 125 games in two seasons with the Wildcats¡earned Pac-12 All Conference honors in 2022 and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2021¡his older brother Andrew played in 114 games for six seasons in the Majors with San Francisco (2014-15), Milwaukee (2016-17), Baltimore (2018) and Pittsburgh (2020).

Spent the entire season at Double-A Midland and hit .257 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI in 88 games...The home runs were a career high as was his .434 slugging percentage, 34 extra base hits and seven hit by pitches¡matched his career high with 19 doubles...Batted .292 (28-for-96) with an .869 OPS against left-handed pitchers compared to .243 (60-for-247) with a .682 OPS against right-handers¡had six home runs and 24 RBI in 96 at bats against lefties and six home runs and 26 RBI in 247 at bats against righties...Five of his 12 home runs gave the RockHounds the lead¡six came with runners on base...Started 81 games at catcher, six at designated hitter and one at first base¡made eight errors as the backstop (.990 fielding percentage)¡opponents were successful in 99-of-134 (73.9%) stolen base attempts with him behind the plate¡led Texas League catchers in assists (55), total chances (790), putouts (727) and games started (81) and tied for the lead in games (81)¡also had the most stolen bases allowed and tied for the third most errors...Made 45 starts hitting clean-up, 27 batting fifth and 16 from the three spot in the order.

Spent most of the season at High-A Lansing where he batted .303 with seven home runs and 54 RBI in 99 games before he was promoted to Double-A Midland on Aug. 30¡hit .280 in 13 games with the RockHounds and combined for a .300 batting average, eight home runs, 62 RBI and a .793 OPS in 112 games overall...Was successful in 9-of-9 stolen base attempts...Led the Midwest League in batting (.303), ranked eighth in OPS (.810), tied for eighth in triples (5), ninth in on-base percentage (.373) and 10th in hits (111)...Ranked third in the A¡¯s farm system in batting, fifth in hits (125), seventh in on-base percentage (.365), tied for eighth in triples (5), 10th in slugging (.428) and tied for 10th in RBI...Batted .354 (35-for-99) with a .948 OPS against left-handed pitchers compared to .284 (90-for-317) with a .743 OPS against right-handers...Had a .301 batting average with the bases empty, .300 with five of his eight home runs with runners on base...Four of his eight home runs put his team ahead...Combined to hit .337 with seven of his eight home runs and a .911 OPS in 56 games in his home ballparks¡had a .264 average with a .674 OPS in 56 road games...Batted .204 with four of his eight home runs with two strikes...Started 75 games at catcher and 35 at designated hitter¡committed eight errors for a .988 fielding percentage¡opponents were successful in 79-of-101 (78.2%) stolen base attempts with him behind the plate...Made 53 starts hitting third, 41 batting clean-up, 13 in the five spot and three hitting sixth...Was rated as the A¡¯s fourth-best prospect by MiLB.com following the season.

Was the A¡¯s first round draft pick and began his professional career with the A¡¯s affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League¡went 3-for-6 in two games before he was promoted to Single-A Stockton on Aug. 8¡hit .286 in 25 games with the Ports and combined for a .298 average, one home run, 15 RBI and a .758 OPS in 27 games overall....Batted .321 (26-for-81) against right-handed pitchers, .217 (5-for-23) with his lone home run against left-handers....Combined for a .405 batting average in his home ballparks¡hit .184 on the road...Had a .333 batting average with his lone home run with runners on base compared to .260 with the bases empty...Was 9-for-17 (.529) when putting the first pitch in play....Started 14 games and designated hitter and 12 at catcher¡committed four errors behind the plate for a .965 fielding percentage¡opponents were successful in 15-of-21 (71.4%) stolen base attempts with him behind the plate....Hit .356 as a catcher, .259 as the designated hitter¡was also 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter. ...Saw his most action with 15 games batting fifth....Following the season, was rated as the A¡¯s fourth-best prospect by MiLB.com and seventh-best by Baseball America....Made his professional debut on Aug. 4 against the Brewers-Blue and went 3-for3 with a double and two RBI in a start at catcher¡it was one of three three-hit games¡went 0-for-3 the next day and was moved up to Stockton on Aug. 8¡was 3-for-24 (.125) over his first seven games with the Ports but then hit .338 over his final 18 contests¡hit his first home run Aug. 13 at San Jose¡had his first of two three-RBI games on Aug. 27 at Fresno (also Aug. 30 vs. San Jose)¡that began a season-best six-game hitting streak that ran through Sept. 3¡ went 10-for-26 (.385) with three doubles and seven RBI during the streak¡had a 0-for-5 game on Sept. 7 at Modesto but then hit safely in each of his final four games (5-for-17, .294).
