Held a 1.08 ERA with 94 strikeouts in 84 innings pitched in high school but was was Miami’s lone high school position player drafted in 2016...Before being drafted as a position player with MIA, had always considered himself a better pitcher than hitter...said Sean, "If I’m being completely honest, I was a better pitcher my whole life and for whatever reason I just kind of ran into a really good season my senior year of high school...I can’t say I didn’t work as hard as I could to try and figure it out, but hitting is hard, man."...Reynolds resumed his pitching acumen during the COVID stricken 2020 season...linked up with former teammate Nick Fortes who caught his throwing sessions.

2024

Made his MLB Debut with SD in 2024, going scoreless in eight of his nine appearances with a 0.82 ERA (1 ER, 11.0 IP), 1.36 WHIP and .238 opponents’ AVG...Recalled from Triple-A El Paso on July 12 and struck out the side in his MLB Debut July 14 vs. ATL in SD’s 6-3 defeat in their final game of the first half…stayed with the ML squad through the AS Break and made another scoreless outing (0.2 IP, H) on July 19 @ CLE before being optioned back to ELP on July 26...Recalled for the second time on Aug. 11 and faced MIA, his former club, that same day (1 IP, 2 H, ER)...proceeded to post an 8.1 scoreless-inning streak across his final six appearances of the season from Aug. 14-30, owning a 1.20 WHIP and .194 opponents’ AVG, along with a 16-to-4 SO/BB ratio...Recorded a career/season-highs of eight outs (2.2 IP) and 47 pitches on Aug. 21 vs. MIN in SD’s 11-4 defeat…tossed 47 pitches again in his final outing of the season on Aug. 30 @ TB, with all 5 outs (1.2 IP) coming via the strikeout...Optioned back ELP on Aug. 31, and went scoreless in four of his five September outings for the Chihuahuas before spraining his left knee towards the end of the month...Threw a 20-pitch simulated game on the Padres workout day on Oct. 7 at Petco Park prior to Game 3 of the NLDS vs. LAD, positioning himself to be an injury replacement if needed during the series...Posted an 11-to-1 SO/BB ratio and was scoreless in his 4 Petco Park appearances...Limited RHH to a .154 clip (4-26) while LHH batted .375 (6-16)...Opponents hit .158 (3-19) with runners on base, including .167 (2-12) with RISP and .000 (0-7) with RISP/2 out...Per Statcast, relied on four pitches: four-seamer (48.9%), slider (43.6%), changeup (5.3%) and sweeper (2.2%)...his four-seamer averaged 96.9 mph, ranking in the 90th percentile with opponents batting .211 (4-19) against the pitch… opponents were 3-20 (.150 AVG) against his slider...Went 2-0 with a 6.17 ERA and .276 opponents’ AVG across 39 appearances (3 GS) for the Chihuahuas in hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League…struck out 67 in 54.0 IP (11.2 SO/9 IP ratio).

2023

Split the 2023 campaign between three Minor League clubs and was a Trade Deadline acquisition by the Padres from Miami on Aug. 1...Between Double-A Pensacola, Triple-A Jacksonville and Triple-A El Paso, made 55 app. (all in relief) with a combined 5.43 ERA (39 ER, 64.2 IP) and a .246 opponent average...Began the season with Pensacola and he went 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA (eight ER, 30.2 IP) in 24 relief appearances before earning his promotion to Triple-A on June 8. Posted a 3.50 ERA (7 ER, 18.0 IP) in 14 appearances at the Triple-A level for Jacksonville...Selected to MIA's ML club on July 7 but was optioned back to Triple-A on July 10 without having made his MLB debut...At the 2023 Trade Deadline, was acquired by San Diego from Miami with Garrett Cooper for Ryan Weathers. Upon joining SD, was assigned to El Paso and posted a 13.50 ERA (24 ER, 16.0 IP) with a .356 opponent average from Aug. 2 through the end of the season...Finished the 2023 season ranked by MLB.com as the Padres' No. 24 overall ranked prospect and their 10th-highest ranked pitching prospect.

2022

Pitched a full season for the first time in his professional career and posted a 4.13 ERA (52.1 IP / 24 ER) with 10 saves and 66 strikeouts between Double-A Pensacola and High-A Beloit...35 of his 50 appearances were scoreless...Held opposing hitters to a .170 batting avg. in 22 appearances with Beloit. Promoted to Double-A in early July and held hitters to a .234 avg. in 28 games...Nine of his final 11 outings with Pensacola were scoreless...Recorded the final five outs in the Southern League championship game for the Blue Wahoos, striking out two batters...Selected to the 40-man roster Nov. 11.
