CHICAGO ¨C The Chicago White Sox have claimed infielder Jake Amaya off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. To make room for Amaya on the 40-man roster, the White Sox designated outfielder Zach DeLoach for assignment.
Amaya, 26, was designated for assignment by Baltimore on January 27 after being claimed by the Orioles off waivers from the Sox on January 16. He appeared in 24 games between the White Sox and Houston last season, hitting .176 (12-68) with a double and three RBI.
DeLoach, 26, batted .209 (14-22) with five doubles, one home run and five RBI over 22 games with Chicago in 2024, his first season in the major leagues.
Following the waiver claim, the White Sox 40-man roster remains at 40.
