There are many fun facts about Brett Phillips -- the No. 10-ranked prospect in the Brewers' system. He's had an exceptional start in Triple-A Colorado Springs this season (11 HRs, .297/.369/.589), he's gone toe-to-toe with rogue opossums, he may have the greatest laugh in the history of the world:
But upon his callup before Monday's Giants-Brewers game, Phillips may have revealed his greatest factoid yet: He used to play H-O-R-S-E against Randy Savage as a kid. Yes, former WWE intercontinental champion of all time Macho Man Randy Savage. MLB.com's Adam McCalvy captured the interview in the main video above and has more on their friendship below:
"It's a funny story," Phillips said. "Macho Man was my neighbor from seventh until 11th grade before he passed away. Every day, he'd see me riding my bike home from school and he'd call me over to play basketball. You would think one of the days, one of the games, he would let up on me, but that was not the case. I got beat every time. You know how kids are always like 'one more game, one more game'? No, he was the one saying 'one more game, we're going again' and I'd be exhausted."
Hey, Macho Man gonna Macho Man.
