It's no secret that one of the biggest storylines in baseball this season has been former Heisman Trophy winner and college football legend Tim Tebow's quest to make it to the big leagues. The 30-year-old Mets farmhand was promoted to High-A St. Lucie in late June and has Florida State League parks buzzing with interest since his arrival. Whether you're a Mets fan or not -- and regardless of his statistical performance -- Tebow is an easy player to root for.
But when we asked some of the players competing in this week's Little League World Series who their favorite baseball players are, we weren't expecting Tebow's name to be mentioned alongside the biggest names in the game. Two players, however -- Dean Daddio from Team Mid-Atlantic, and Braden Campbell from Team Great Lakes -- surprised us, citing Tebow as their absolute favorite player, and providing some rather thoughtful insight as to why.
Check out the clip above to hear why Tebow stands out from all the rest for these two Little League stars.
