Jennifer Bellinger shared an old home video of her son Cole pitching to older brother Cody
Baseball has always been in Cody Bellinger's blood. His father, Clay, was a Major Leaguer for four seasons when Cody was a kid, so it didn't take long for him and his younger brother, Cole, to fall in love with the game.
Need proof? Bellinger's mother, Jennifer, recently shared an old home video of little Cole (a recently drafted Minor Leaguer with the Padres) pitching to Cody, hoping that one day history could repeat itself in the Majors:
Thanks to the background play-by-play of Yankees broadcasters John Sterling and Michael Kay, we can even pinpoint the date of this home video -- Aug. 26, 2001. Papa Clay started at third that day for the Yankees against the Angels and went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Cody was obviously happy to play along with his little brother, and just six years later, he went on to star in the 2007 Little League World Series.
Naturally, the pitcher Cole had to chime in with a little boast over Cody:
The younger Bellinger will definitely be aiming to repeat that feat someday in the future.
