Fortnite is a video game currently taking the world in general, and baseball in particular, by storm. The game consists of 100 players dropped into an open map who then compete to be the last one standing. On Opening Day we got an on-field glimpse of the Fortnite/baseball love affair.
After knocking a leadoff double in the bottom of the seventh, Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts whipped out one of the more iconic Fortnite celebrations: the "Take the L." This is how it looks in the game:

This is pretty great, but just wait until one of the other Fortnite addicts in MLB breaks out an axe move or pretends to revive a teammate after a dinger or something.
