Blue Jays-Yanks postponed Saturday; single-admission DH set for Sunday
The Yankees announced that Saturday's game against the Blue Jays will not be played due to the forecast of sustained inclement weather.
The teams will make up the game as the second game of a single-admission doubleheader on Sunday at Yankee Stadium, which will begin at 1:35 p.m. ET. The second game will start approximately 30 minutes after the first game ends.
Left-hander Max Fried, a week removed from losing a no-hitter after an official scoring change, is scheduled to start Game 1 for the Yankees, followed by right-hander Clarke Schmidt. For the Blue Jays, Kevin Gausman takes the mound in the opener, followed by Chris Bassitt in Game 2.
Toronto took the series opener on Friday, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to score three runs in the ninth inning against New York closer Devin Williams. Acquired in a trade with Milwaukee during the offseason, Williams saw his ERA jump to 11.25, with 12 hits and 10 earned runs allowed in eight innings.
"You go through tough moments in your career and your life, whatever it may be, that equip you to get through it, and he'll get through it," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said of Williams after Friday's game. "We're not even a month into this yet, and because he's had some struggling outings, that makes it a little tougher. We're all human doing this, too."

The Blue Jays took the lead in the ninth on a two-run double by Alejandro Kirk, then got some insurance on an Addison Barger single against Yankees right-hander Mark Leiter Jr. Jeff Hoffman closed it out for Toronto, picking up his sixth save.
Tickets for Saturday's game will not be valid for the Sunday doubleheader. Fans with paid tickets for Saturday's game may exchange them for tickets to a similar regular-season game at Yankee Stadium (subject to availability) as described in the YankeesĄŻ rain check policy.
The policy can be found at www.yankees.com/raincheck. Tickets can be exchanged online only and cannot be exchanged in-person at the Yankee Stadium Ticket Office.
On Sunday, all Yankee Stadium gates will open at noon. At that time, distribution will begin for the April 27 scheduled promotional item, a Hersheypark Kids Ticket Giveaway Day presented by Hersheypark, to the first 10,000 fans 14 and younger.
