GLENDALE, Ariz. -- After the Dodgers embark for Japan, fans on home soil will get the chance to catch a glimpse of the organization's future.
Five days before the Dodgers and Cubs open the regular season in the Tokyo Series, prospects from the two teams will clash in Spring Breakout, which is back for its second year. Three of the Dodgers' prospects ranked in MLB Pipeline's Top 100 list -- and more than half of the organization's Top 30 list -- are slated to participate.

Which position players are expected to play?
Josue De Paula (Dodgers' No. 3 prospect, No. 40 overall) and Zyhir Hope (Dodgers' No. 6, No. 74 overall) headline the organization's position-player ranks at Spring Breakout. It came as little surprise that both were reassigned to Minor League camp in the Dodgers' first round of spring cuts, as De Paula is 19 years old and Hope is 20; both should open the season in Single-A. The two outfield prospects nonetheless left a strong impression as non-roster invitees in big league Spring Training.
Shortstops Emil Morales and Kellon Lindsey and outfielder Eduardo Quintero are other position players in the Dodgers' Top 10 who could see playing time. Spring Breakout could also give fans a first look at outfielder Mike Sirota, whom the Dodgers received from the Reds in the trade for Gavin Lux.
Which pitching prospects are expected to play?
Left-hander Jackson Ferris (Dodgers' No. 4, No. 70 overall) should get the chance to reprise his solid Spring Breakout performance from last year (three strikeouts in two innings, with one unearned run). Acquired along with Hope in the trade that sent Michael Busch to the Cubs, Ferris was named the Dodgers' Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2024, his first season in the organization.
Right-handers Hyun-Seok Jang and Jose Rodriguez are the other pitchers ranked among the Dodgers' Top 30 prospects who were named to the roster.
Why are certain top prospects not listed on the roster?
The Dodgers will be without their top two prospects -- right-hander Roki Sasaki (No. 1 overall) and catcher Dalton Rushing (No. 30 overall) -- at Spring Breakout. Rushing played in last year's game, and Sasaki will be in Japan with the big league club for the season-opening Tokyo Series.
