SAN FRANCISCO -- For 25 years, music has been a large part of the gameday experience at Oracle Park, from Tony Bennett to the Baha Men to DJ Umami. As the downtown ballpark's 25th anniversary season opens, the Giants are embracing music in an even bigger way.
That may be most apparent next Tuesday, when the Giants will debut their new "remixed" City Connect uniforms, a yet-to-be-revealed design "inspired by the deep, diverse and vibrant Bay Area music scene and the rich beats and rhythms that have rocked the city of San Francisco over the last few decades," according to chief marketing officer Rachel Heit.
The Giants will also be hosting two City Connect postgame concerts, free for all fans in attendance with field access available as an add-on purchase. Country artist Nate Smith plays on June 21, with a camo cap giveaway included, and hip-hop star Saweetie will perform on Aug. 16.
On May 17, before the Giants host the Athletics, they'll host a City Connect free community event at China Basin Park, "aimed at celebrating Bay Area music and supporting local non-profits that focus on providing Bay Area youth with access to music," said Heit.
The Giants have also collaborated with Bay Area artist LaRussell to create an anthem song as part of the "Nothing Like It" brand campaign, entering its third year. LaRussell, from Vallejo, is known for his backyard "Pergola" concerts.
Beyond music, new features at Oracle Park this season will be visible throughout the ballpark, from newly designed suites to an enhanced Field Club corridor featuring three new bars to Lefty's Patio, a revamped social space atop the stairs at Lefty O'Doul Gate.
More noticeable, especially at Saturday's first night game of the season, will be new canopy lights ringing the lip of the upper deck that cast full color ambience during gameplay. And perhaps the most obvious upgrade of them all will be the renovated Coca-Cola bottle behind the left-field bleachers, which will now sport a wraparound LED board that can display animated video effects and custom graphics.
"One of our goals is the very freshness that we felt in April 2000 [when Oracle Park opened] we also feel again here 25 years later with our ballpark," said Giants president and CEO Larry Baer. "Keep the ballpark feeling fresh, feeling new."
Around the concourse, fans will notice new food offerings as well as faster ways to order and pay for those concessions, including autonomous, grab-and-go shopping for beverages on the Promenade level behind home plate, self-checkout technology offered at a Doggie Diner Express behind Section 112 and at nine Bayside Brews, and self-order kiosks at the new Lefty's Patio area.
Special celebrations during the 2025 season will honor the recently retired Brandon Crawford on April 26 and mascot Lou Seal on July 27 for his induction into the Mascot Hall of Fame. Highlighting the promotional schedule are four bobblehead giveaways: Matt Chapman (with 1,000 of the 15,000 a gold-dipped variant), Heliot Ramos, Barry Bonds and Warriors superstar Steph Curry.
Wearables are also a big part of the promotions and special events calendar, including jerseys themed to "A Minecraft Movie," Peanuts, Star Wars, Hello Kitty, Jung Hoo Lee, the 49ers and several college and heritage nights. There will also be hoodies, bucket hats, a spirit jersey, an aloha shirt and even a wrestling belt fanny pack.
And lastly, among the new ticketing initiatives is a special rooting section in the center-field bleachers dubbed the "Jung Hoo Crew." Fans who buy special tickets for the section on Friday, Saturday and Sunday games will get a limited-edition Jung Hoo Lee T-shirt.
