Gunner Antillon, Griffin Palfrey, Ryder Brooks and Trevor Hansen earn national recognition from College Baseball Foundation
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Gunner Antillon (Bowling Green), Griffin Palfrey (Columbia), Ryder Brooks (UC Irvine) and Trevor Hansen (UC Irvine) earned weekly honors from the College Baseball Foundation (CBF) for their respective performances last week.
Antillon earned the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week while Palfrey was named the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week. UC Irvine teammates Brooks and Hansen were selected as the National Co-Pitchers of the Week.
Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week (Nation*s Most Outstanding Shortstop)
Gunner Antillon, IF, Senior, Bowling Green, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
Antillon was nearly unstoppable for the Falcons last week going 14-for-20 (.700) with 12 RBI in helping Bowling Green to a pair of victories in four games. He was 4-for-6 at the plate in two games while going 3-for-4 in the other two games. The senior tallied six runs scored, three doubles, two home runs and two walks on the week. He also turned two double plays and did not commit an error on 17 chances in the field. Antillon is hitting .343 with 20 RBI on the season.
John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week Award
Griffin Palfrey, IF/RHP, Senior, Columbia, Vancouver, B.C.
Palfrey helped key Columbia to a perfect 4-0 week, including a win over Fairfield and a weekend sweep of Dartmouth. The senior infielder went 6-for-14 (.429) with nine RBI, eight runs, three walks, two home runs and one stolen base. On the mound, he made two appearances, earning a win while allowing only three hits and striking out four batters in two innings of work. In the Lions* 18-7 mid-week win over Fairfield, Palfrey was 4-for-5 with eight RBI and three runs, including two three-run home runs. He then closed the game with a scoreless inning with three strikeouts on the mound.
National Co-Pitchers of the Week
Ryder Brooks, LHP, RS-Sophomore, UC Irvine, Fountain Valley, Calif.
Brooks tossed a complete-game shutout, scattering two hits over nine innings while striking out 10 batters in a 5-0 win over Hawai'i on Saturday. The southpaw walked only one batter and closed out the Rainbow Warriors on 107 pitches to earn the victory. He faced the minimum through three innings and had a no-hitter going through 4.2 innings. Brooks is now 5-2 on the season for the Anteaters.
Trevor Hansen, RHP, Sophomore, UC Irvine, Simi Valley, Calif.
Hansen was dominant on the hill for the Anteaters last Friday, earning a complete-game shutout of Hawai'i in a 4-0 UC Irvine victory. The sophomore scattered three hits and walked only two, while tallying a career-high 10 strikeouts in the win. Hansen improved his record to 6-0 this season and 12-4 in his career. He has now racked up 63 strikeouts in 59 innings this season.
College Baseball Foundation Weekly Honors
Brooks Wallace Award
The Brooks Wallace Award is presented annually to honor the nation's most outstanding shortstop. It is a tribute to Brooks Wallace, a slick-fielding shortstop at Texas Tech from 1977-80 who passed away at age 27 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Prior to 2009, the award recognized the national player of the year.

John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award
The John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award is presented annually by the College Baseball Foundation to honor the nation's top combo pitcher-position player. Olerud, who was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, was a standout pitcher and first baseman at Washington State from 1987 through 1989.

About the College Baseball Hall of Fame
Each year, more than 190 representatives nationwide vote on the College Baseball Hall of Fame induction class. The voting body is comprised of national and regional college baseball media, active and retired coaches, former players, former inductees, college baseball historians and members of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) collegiate baseball committee.
