Kodai Senga's ghost forkball now has its own song
The Mets were very good last year.
Francisco Lindor nearly won the NL MVP. Their starting pitching stepped up in a big way down the stretch. Mark Vientos had a breakout season.
But, let's face it, much of their success had to do with vibes. And the No. 1 vibe guy was utility-man/pop star Jose Iglesias -- whose song "OMG" played throughout Citi Field all summer long.
Iglesias signed with the Padres this week, so those vibes are gone. But don't fear, Mets fans, somebody -- for some reason -- has made a song about Kodai Senga's Ghost Forkball.
The artist is Japan's Yusuke Kamiji, a successful singer who also played high school baseball with Daisuke Matsuzaka.
Look for the song to be played during Senga's warmups, when he strikes out a batter with his supernatural pitch or really, probably, any time the camera is on him.
The vibes are back at Citi for 2025! And they can't be killed, because, guess what? They're already dead.
