Matt King, Ryan Sprock and Lyndon Glidewell earn national recognition from College Baseball Foundation
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Matt King (Arizona State), Ryan Sprock (Elon) and Lyndon Glidewell (Austin Peay) earned weekly honors from the College Baseball Foundation (CBF) for their respective performances last week.
King earned the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week while Sprock was named the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week. Glidewell was selected as the National Pitcher of the Week.
Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Week (Nation*s Most Outstanding Shortstop)
Matt King, IF, Senior, Arizona State, Houston, Texas
King was red hot for the Sun Devils at the plate going 11-for-20 with eight RBI, eight runs scored, two home runs, two doubles and one walk in four games last week. The senior posted a pair of four-hit games including a 4-for-5 effort with two home runs and six RBIs in a victory over California State University Northridge (CSUN) before posting another 4-for-5 outing with three RBI in a win over Cincinnati last weekend. King is now hitting .402 with three home runs and 25 RBI on the season. King was once again spectacular in the field as well. He has committed only one error in 86 chances this season for a fielding percentage of .988.
John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week Award
Ryan Sprock, 3B/RHP, Junior, Elon, Morristown, N.J.
Sprock was a key contributor for the Phoenix last week both at the plate and on the mound. The junior was 7-for-14 (.500) at the plate in four games last week, earning four RBI, two home runs, two walks, one triple and scoring six runs. He made two appearances as a pitcher, going 1.1 innings in a narrow loss to No. 12 North Carolina before earning his first save of the season with one inning of perfect relief in a series finale win against Towson. Sprock struck out one batter in closing out the Tigers and helping Elon earn the series win.
National Pitcher of the Week
Lyndon Glidewell, RHP, Junior, Austin Peay, Temecula, Calif.
Glidewell was nearly perfect in his start on the mound in the first game of a doubleheader against North Alabama on Sunday. The junior right-hander earned a complete-game no-hitter in a 20-0 win over the Lions. Glidewell struck out five batters and issued only one walk on 87 pitches to lead the Governors to a road victory. He earned the win and became the sixth pitcher in school history to throw a no-hitter, the first since 1996. With the win, he improved his season mark to 5-0 with one save in nine outings. His ERA now stands at 3.12 for the season.

Brooks Wallace Award
The Brooks Wallace Award is presented annually to honor the nation's most outstanding shortstop. It is a tribute to Brooks Wallace, a slick-fielding shortstop at Texas Tech from 1977-80 who passed away at age 27 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Prior to 2009, the award recognized the national player of the year.

John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award
The John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award is presented annually by the College Baseball Foundation to honor the nation's top combo pitcher-position player. Olerud, who was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007, was a standout pitcher and first baseman at Washington State from 1987 through 1989.

Each year, more than 190 representatives nationwide vote on the College Baseball Hall of Fame induction class.
