A ticket to an MLB game was a hot item on Friday.
The average attendance at the 14 games played yesterday was a whopping 35,284 -- the highest average attendance for a Friday in April with no home openers since April 25, 2008 (35,472).
Fans who bought tickets were treated to some spectacular action on the field. The day started with the D-backs and Cubs engaging in a wild, back-and-forth slugfest at Wrigley Field. In New York, Mets fans got to see Francisco Lindor's walk-off homer -- his first as a Met -- which also happened to be the 250th dinger of his career.
In the Marlins-Phillies tilt at Citizens Bank Park, fans saw Zack Wheeler strike out 13 on his way to a win powered by long balls from Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber.
Elsewhere, Braves fans got a long-awaited offensive outburst as the team put together a five-run eighth inning -- capped by rookie Drake Baldwin's two-run pinch-hit single -- to fuel a comeback win against the Twins.
