The Washington Nationals are turning 20.
To commemorate their milestone anniversary, the Nationals have launched a season-long celebration: NATS20.
¡°From our first game at RFK, to Ryan Zimmerman¡¯s walk-off to open Nationals Park and of course 2019 World Series, the last 20 years have been filled with so many amazing and memorable moments,¡± said managing principal owner Mark D. Lerner.
¡°And while the players, the ballpark and even the logo have changed, our fans have remained constant, which is why we¡¯re so excited to put them at the forefront of our 20th anniversary celebration. We look forward to hearing their stories and to making many more with the next generation of our players and fans.¡±
NATS20 will include the biggest sweepstakes in club history, in-park giveaways, alumni appearances and an opportunity to recreate favorite Nationals moments. The Cheers to 20 Years Sweepstakes and the Nats¡¯ 2025 promotional calendar will be announced next week when single-game tickets go on sale.
From Jan. 15-31, fans will be able to vote on their favorite 20 moments from the past 20 seasons. A panel of former players, broadcasters and staff will submit their lists. The top 20 picks will be featured throughout Nationals Park beginning on Opening Day.
Ahead of Opening Day, the 2025 Nationals Homecoming Gala will celebrate the power of baseball¡¯s impact in the community. The event will begin with a fan fest and a red carpet event at The Wharf. The 2025 Power of Baseball Award will be presented at the gala inside The Anthem.
The Nats will host the Phillies on March 27 to open the regular season. The team will wear 20th anniversary patches on its home and away caps throughout the season.
