Notes: Vaccinate at the Plate; TEX Gala
ARLINGTON -- The Rangers announced the "Vaccinate at the Plate" event for Monday's series opener against the A's, where unvaccinated fans can get the COVID-19 shot in conjunction with Kroger and the Kroger Pharmacy team. Vaccination distribution will take place at the Upper Suite Level next to the Northeast Entrance of Globe Life Field.
Both the two-dose and single-dose vaccines will be available between 5-8 p.m. CT that evening. If fans receive the first two-dose shot, they can schedule to get the second shot at a local Kroger. If they wish to get the second shot, they should bring their vaccination card to Globe Life Field to complete the process.
Any fan who gets a COVID-19 vaccine will receive a voucher for two tickets to any Rangers home game on Sunday through Thursday in the upper box area throughout the rest of the season.

2021 TEX Gala
On Thursday night, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation raised $1.625 million at the 2021 TEX Gala. Money raised will go towards the North Texas community, impacting health and education as well as military and first responders. It will also benefit the Texas Rangers Youth Academy.
¡°We're still obviously in a post-pandemic situation and our communities are in need, from our academy families to just families in need for food distributions and those types of things that we'll continue to do,¡± Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation executive director Karin Morris said.
¡°But we're also able to build on things and expand our scholarship offerings that are RBI hitter programs, or be able to add some of our educational programs. These types of events help us expand what we're doing while still being able to do the emergency grants and support our community where they need us.¡±
Grammy Award winning country singer Tim McGraw performed at the event, which included Charley Pride¡¯s family members, Rozene and Dion Pride, and Rangers great Iv¨¢n ¡°Pudge¡± Rodr¨ªguez.
Rangers manager Chris Woodward, Nick Solak, Joey Gallo and Taylor Hearn were among players and staff members in attendance.
¡°It's always a special night, especially for us to come out here and help the Ranger Foundation,¡± Gallo said. ¡°It does so much for the DFW community, so it's always a lot of fun. It's a nice night that we look forward to. We haven't really been able to interact with fans and other outside people too much. So we're still a little bit closer now. That's nice to get through this event, again, that we didn't get to do last year.¡±
Adolis on Derby
With less than a month until the All-Star Game, outfielder Adolis Garc¨ªa is looking to represent the Rangers at Coors Field. When MLB announced the top vote-getters at each position, Garc¨ªa was the only Texas player in the top-five at his position, sitting fourth among American League outfielders.

With that comes the opportunity to be part of the Home Run Derby. After Angels star Shohei Ohtani announced he would be participating in the Derby, Garc¨ªa said he¡¯d love to take part in the event.

¡°I¡¯d enjoy it if given the opportunity to do it,¡± Garc¨ªa said through an interpreter on Friday. ¡°But it¡¯s not something that I¡¯m kind of concentrating on or thinking about doing at the time. If it was up to me, I¡¯d do it.¡±
Garc¨ªa led the Rangers with 16 home runs and was tied for eighth in MLB heading into Friday¡¯s game against the Twins.
