Here's the Rangers' Spring Breakout roster
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The annual Spring Breakout game returns for its second year as a showcase event for Major League prospects.
The Rangers have a farm system full of talent, and while big names like Evan Carter and Wyatt Langford have graduated to be consistent fixtures on the big league club, the organization is pleased with where the farm system is going.
¡°I think [Spring Breakout] is a great opportunity for our players that maybe otherwise wouldn't get the exposure to showcase their talents in a nationally broadcast game,¡± said Rangers general manager Ross Fenstermaker. ¡°There's tremendous coverage of the event, and I just think that it's a great opportunity for our fans to see the future and our players to be able to showcase it.¡±
Here is what you need to know about this showcase of Texas' best Minor Leaguers.

Which position players are expected to play?
The Rangers¡¯ squad will be highlighted by top prospect Sebastian Walcott (No. 17 overall, per MLB Pipeline). The 18-year-old shortstop has impressed in his first big league camp this spring, but was recently reassigned to the Minors in order to build up his at-bats.
Joining Walcott will be 2024 first-round pick Malcolm Moore (Rangers' No. 4) and second-round pick Dylan Dreiling (No. 10), as well as Alejandro Osuna (No. 8), who has also made a big impact in big league camp this year.
Which pitching prospects are expected to play?
Right-handers Winston Santos (No. 5) and Emiliano Teodo (No. 6), two of the Rangers¡¯ most promising young arms, are both expected to make appearances in Spring Breakout while also appearing in big league camp.
? Can flamethrowing Teodo break camp with Texas ¡ as a reliever?
Skylar Hales (No. 25) and Josh Stephan (No. 22) -- who both have breakout potential in 2025 -- are on the roster as well.
¡°We've talked a lot about our pitching pipeline and our pitching development practices,¡± Fenstermaker said. ¡°We're not all the way there yet, but we feel like we've created quite a decent-sized group at this point in terms of guys that can come up and help contribute here in the very near future. I think this is a special moment for the Rangers in our pitching development processes right now, and I'm excited to continue to build on that.¡±

Why are certain top prospects not listed on the roster?
Former Vanderbilt teammates Kumar Rocker (No. 2) and Jack Leiter (No. 3) won¡¯t be at Spring Breakout as they both continue battling for rotation spots in big league camp. The same goes for reliever Marc Church and infielder Justin Foscue (No. 15), both of whom are battling for the last spots on the roster.
Other notable guys like Alejandro Rosario (No. 7) and Jose Corniell (No. 12) are all returning from injury, while Kohl Drake (No. 13) has been dealing with a nagging back injury since the start of big league camp.
