You don¡¯t need us to tell you that it¡¯s been a landmark year for Shohei Ohtani. First 50-50 season in MLB history. First 50-homer season in Dodgers history. First playoff berth of his MLB career. First player with 400 total bases since 2001. And finally official, largely thanks to his three-hit performance on Thursday night, the first division championship in his career.
The latter achievement was especially sweet for the Dodgers after clinching at home in a comeback win over the rival Padres, and everyone was in on the celebration. Including the animals in attendance.
Check out the below video, in which Ohtani, his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, and his dog, Decoy, took a victory lap around Dodger Stadium to soak in the events of the night.

Ohtani and the Dodgers still have much bigger goals throughout the remainder of 2024. But no matter how things shake out in October, the night of Sept. 26 will always be a memorable one for Ohtani and all of those close to him.
