Players' Weekend is officially underway, meaning your favorite players are taking the field with nicknames on the back of their jerseys and some other unique gear, including plenty of specially designed cleats.

Here's a look at some of the best images and stories coming out of the annual event:

Judge's big tribute to Little Leaguers

Aaron Judge's cleats for Players' Weekend were signed by all 217 players participating in this year's Little League World Series.

“They found a way to kind of squeeze them all in there,” Judge said. “I’m excited about it. It’ll be something cool for the kids to do and when I wear them on TV they can tell their all their friends, ‘Hey, I signed those cleats’ or something like that.”

Players honor Skaggs

Patrick Corbin used his jersey to honor former teammate Tyler Skaggs, who died on July 1. The two were both drafted by the Angels in June 2009, traded to Arizona together in '10 and each made his respective big league debut with the D-backs in '12.

White Sox ace Lucas Giolito is doing the same, dedicating his nickname to the late pitcher.

Kole Calhoun, longtime teammate of Skaggs, honored him with some great artwork on his cleats, displaying Skaggs' No. 45 as seen on an Angels uniform.

Meanwhile, Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty paid tribute to his fellow Santa Monica, Calif., area native with special cleats to go with his jersey.

Reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich is also paying tribute to Skaggs, with customized cleats honoring No. 45 along with his Players' Weekend jersey.

Betts covers it all

Mookie Betts took full advantage of Players' Weekend, sporting a different pair of cleats each day. Two of the sets were dedicated to his daughter, Kynlee Ivory, while the third honored former teammate David Ortiz.

Jackie Bradley Jr. got similar inspiration from his daughter.

Cool cleats

They call him the Polar Bear, and Pete Alonso has cleats to match the nickname on the back of his jersey.

Rizzo's new look

Anthony Rizzo donned cleats with a picturesque view of Chicago and used a specially designed -- and equally aesthetic -- bat to go with them.

Artistic Acuna

Ronald Acuna Jr. has some great artwork on his cleats, giving him even more inspiration to do incredible things on the field. Oh, and he did by joining the 30-30 club with his 30th stolen base of the season Friday.

Tribute to Puerto Rico

Francisco Lindor is honoring his native Puerto Rico with these vividly colorful cleats.

Who needs nicknames?

A trio of Indians players -- Carlos Carrasco (cookie), Mike Clevinger (peace sign, sunshine) and Francisco Lindor -- were among those who chose to wear emojis on their jersey this weekend, though Lindor also sandwiched "MR. SMILE" between his two smiley faces.

Shark sighting

No Players' Weekend would be complete without a Baby Shark sighting. Austin Adams takes care of that.

Going all out

Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro, wearing "EL OSO" on the back of his jersey, embraced Players' Weekend from head to toe, showing off a customized arm sleeve, bat and cleats.

Cartoon style

Cameron Maybin went straight 1990s Nickelodeon with his Players' Weekend cleats, featuring characters from cartoons "Doug" and "Hey Arnold."

Barnhart's colorful cleats

Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart is simply wearing "TUCK" on the back of his jersey, but he wore specially designed cleats based on his son Tatum's favorite movie, "Cars."

Rays and Gators

Fellow catcher Mike Zunino is repping his alma mater, the University of Florida.

Holland takes on Scranton

Derek Holland paid tribute to the TV show "The Office" with special cleats that featured various Dunder Mifflin employees.

Pham pays tribute to Nipsey

Rays outfielder Tommy Pham, who will wear "PHAMTASTIC" on the back of his jersey, used his cleats to pay respect to late rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Clark joins in the festivities

Even Cubs mascot Clark the Cub got involved in the fun, ordering a special pair of cleats for Chicago's series against the Nationals.
