'Definitely like it': Twins switch from blue pants to white for City Connects
MINNEAPOLIS -- Vive la contrast.
The Twins have made a change to their City Connect uniforms, replacing the blue pants from last year with white pants that have yellow and navy piping down the side. It makes for a contrast with the blue jerseys, which remain unchanged, and comes in response to a wave of fan sentiment when the uniforms debuted in 2024.
A club spokesman explained that the white pants were always one of the ideas under consideration for the City Connect look. So when sentiment for the change grew within the organization and among the fan base, the decision was made to switch for 2025.
The change was greeted warmly in the home clubhouse at Target Field.
¡°I think these look so much better,¡± said reliever Scott Blewett. ¡°That¡¯s all I¡¯ve got to say about it. I definitely like it.¡±
Even some who enjoyed the variety that the all-blue uniform provided, still appreciated the change.
¡°I was a fan of, just [something] different,¡± said infielder Royce Lewis. ¡°I like colors. So I liked them. But the white is good. I like it. I think it¡¯s good, better for our uniform.¡±
The Twins will once again wear the City Connects for Friday night home games, so their series opener against Detroit marked the debut of the new look.
¡°As someone who likes to look good, I think white pants [work well],¡± said outfielder DaShawn Keirsey. ¡°And I¡¯m very big on contrast with the white pants and a darker jersey. That¡¯s swag, baby.¡±
In another tweak to the ensemble, the Twins also debuted a new batting practice hat with their City Connects. It¡¯s yellow with a navy bill and ¡°MN¡± on the front.
