A slew of Yankees prospects were among the 26 players who were extended non-roster invitations to big league Spring Training on Wednesday and will be reporting to Tampa, Fla., when camp opens later this month.
Outfielder Spencer Jones (New York¡¯s No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline), infielder George Lombard Jr. (No. 3), infielder Roderick Arias (No. 4) and right-hander Chase Hampton (No. 6) are among the Yanks¡¯ group of NRIs. They¡¯ll be joined by outfielder Jasson Dom¨ªnguez (Yankees' No. 1, MLB Pipeline¡¯s No. 21 overall prospect), who is already on the 40-man roster.
This won¡¯t be the first big league camp experience for Jones, who was also invited last year. The 23-year-old, who was a first-round Draft pick in 2022, spent all of last season at Double-A Somerset, where he slashed .259/.336/.452 with 30 doubles, six triples, 17 homers and 78 RBIs in 122 games.
Lombard (19 years old) and Arias (20) will both be first-timers in MLB camp. Lombard has never played above High-A Aberdeen and Arias hasn¡¯t advanced past Single-A Tampa, so this will be a valuable experience for both youngsters.
Hampton, the Yankees¡¯ top pitching prospect, made only seven starts in the Minors last year due to multiple injuries. The 23-year-old got another small taste of Double-A (two starts for Somerset), and he¡¯ll look to build upon that experience in his second trip to big league camp.

The 24-year-old righty reached both Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the first time in 2024.

The 29-year-old Jackson was acquired in a trade with the Reds on Dec. 20. The backstop has five years of MLB experience, and he played in a career-high 58 games with the Rays last year.
