Astros sign Brendan Rodgers to Minor League contract
HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros have signed infielder Brendan Rodgers to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League Spring Training. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Dana Brown.
Rodgers, 28, hit .267 (134x501) with 29 doubles, 13 homers and 54 RBI in 135 games as the Rockies primary second baseman last season. He started 124 games in 2024, all at second base, and has 395 career starts at the keystone position. Rodgers has played in parts of six Major League seasons (2019-24), all with Colorado, turning in his best campaign in 2022, when he won the National League Gold Glove Award at the second base position. He was originally drafted by Colorado with the third overall pick in the 2015 draft.
Rodgers is the 66th player at Major League camp, including the 15th infielder
