Julio Borb車n Named First Base Coach
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers today named Julio Borb車n first base coach. The announcement was made by Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Arnold.
The addition of Borb車n completes the Major League coaching staff under manager Pat Murphy for the 2025 season. This also includes associate manager Rickie Weeks (enters 2nd season on the coaching staff), field coordinator N谷stor Corredor (3rd season), third base coach Jason Lane (10th season), pitching coach Chris Hook (7th season), assistant pitching and strategy coach Jim Henderson (4th season), bullpen coach Charlie Greene (2nd season), lead hitting coach Al LeBoeuf (1st season), hitting coach Connor Dawson (4th season), hitting coach Eric Theisen (1st season), assistant coach Daniel de Mondesert (2nd season) and infield coach Matt Erickson (2nd season).
Christian Correa (2nd season) and Adam Weisenburger (5th season) will return as the team*s bullpen catchers.
Borb車n, 38, spent three seasons (2022-24) in player development with the Minnesota Twins as assistant coordinator of instruction. He began his coaching career in the New York Yankees organization, where he served as the baserunning, outfield and bunting coach at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2019. He was slated to be the defensive coach for the Rookie Gulf Coast League Yankees in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the Minor League season. Borb車n managed the Rookie Florida Complex League Yankees to a 36-16 record and the North Division championship in 2021.
A former outfielder, Borb車n was selected by Texas in the supplemental first round (35th overall) of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Tennessee. He played 12 professional seasons (2007-18) and appeared in 294 games over parts of five years in the Major Leagues with Texas (2009-11, 2013), Chicago-NL (2013) and Baltimore (2016).
