Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation expands 2025 Dodgers Dreamteam program to serve 15,000 youth across 122 locations
LOS ANGELES (April 17, 2025)〞The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) proudly announces the 12th season of its Dodgers Dreamteam program, an affiliate of Nike RBI. As communities recover from recent wildfires, this season plays a crucial role in reinforcing LADF*s commitment to providing vital resources and opportunities for youth and their families. The first of five Dodger Days 每 community events where players and their families can access health screenings, educational programs, and basic essentials 每 this season will take place on April 19 at Southeast-Rio Vista Family YMCA from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Representing a season of hope, healing, and impact, Dodger Dreamteam will serve 15,000 youth 每 a 15% increase over last year 每 in 2025 through partnerships with 17 affiliate organizations at 122 locations. More than just a baseball and softball program, Dodgers Dreamteam equips youth with mental health and education resources, leadership development and scholarships, and necessities to thrive. A dedicated network of knowledgeable and passionate leaders will guide young athletes throughout the season, fostering growth on and off the field.
Dodgers Dreamteam will continue providing critical resources through its signature Dodger Days, with resources including food boxes provided by LA Regional Food Bank, baseball and softball instruction via Dodgers Training Academy, UCLA Health screenings, eye exams from Vision to Learn, books as a part of LA Reads, transportation resources, including free and discounted fares from LA Metro, STEM activities from LADF*s Science of Baseball curriculum and more.
※This year, Dodgers Dreamteam will serve youth using baseball and softball not only to grow participation in sports, but as a vehicle to expand access to education, health care, wellness, and essential resources,§ said Nichol Whiteman, CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. ※The growth of this program wouldn*t be possible without the crucial support of our sponsors, partners, and volunteers, who help deliver vital resources and services to those who need them most.§
LADF remains committed to expanding access, breaking down barriers, and providing opportunities for low-income families who need them most. This comprehensive sports-based youth development program leverages the power of sport to provide critical resources and services to communities experiencing social injustices. By fostering an inclusive, barrier-free environment, the program ensures underserved youth can participate while equipping parents and coaches with training to support social and emotional learning. All participants receive free uniforms and access to baseball and softball equipment, removing financial hurdles to play.
As part of a multi-year investment stemming from the 2022 All-Star legacy funds, LADF has trained over 1,500 coaches to enhance the quality of its sports-based youth development work. The Foundation will host Coaches Trainings in partnership with Nike and three leading organizations: Center for Healing and Justice through Sport, Positive Coaching Alliance, and Dodgers Training Academy. Coaches will continue incorporating the Dodgers Dreamteam Coaches Playbook 每 Living Jackie*s Nine 每 developed in partnership with Nike. The playbook is rooted in the nine heartfelt, hard-won values that helped baseball legend and civil rights hero Jackie Robinson achieve his goals. The playbook will be available in Spanish for the first time this year.
In addition to five Dodger Days and Coaches Trainings, program elements of the 2025 Dodgers Dreamteam season include College and Career Accelerator events sponsored by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), four Scholar Athlete Development Series Sessions, Nutrition and Fitness Clinics Series, and Field Maintenance Clinics. High school senior Dodgers Dreamteam participants will also be eligible to apply for LADF*s Legacy Scholarship, a $10,000 college scholarship.
