MLB releases details for the commemoration of Jackie Robinson Day in 2025
Major League Baseball, in coordination with the Jackie Robinson Foundation, MLB Clubs and various partners, has announced Baseball*s 2025 efforts to honor the legacy of Jackie Robinson under the MLB Together platform (MLBTogether.com) on and in advance of Jackie Robinson Day 每 Tuesday, April 15th.
IN BALLPARK
NUMBER &42* IN DODGER BLUE 每 As is tradition, players, managers and coaches will once again wear Robinson*s iconic number this April 15th, with all teams using Dodger blue ※42§ jersey numbers (regardless of their primary team colors).
- Additionally, players, coaches, managers, and umpires will have New Era caps with a ※42§ side Nike
Breaking Barriers t-shirts also will be worn during batting practice.
- Commemorative base jewels and lineup cards will be used for each

In the spirit of the pillars of MLB Together, below are different ways Jackie Robinson Day will be commemorated throughout Major League Baseball:
VOLUNTEERISM
- On April 15th, MLB will host a volunteer event at MLB's League Office in collaboration with Henry Street Settlement. Event volunteers will assemble 200 Hygiene Kits that will be donated to Henry Street Settlement to support their CONNECT program (Continuous Engagement between Clients and Clinicians over Time). The CONNECT program is designed to provide long-term support and engagement for individuals facing mental health challenges and provides a crucial role in ensuring that individuals do not fall through the cracks in the mental health system.
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
JRF SCHOLARS 每 MLB and the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) have continued their longstanding partnership, primarily to provide students from under-represented communities with college scholarships. Many of the current JRF Scholars, as well as JRF Scholars alumni, will be recognized by Clubs. Historically, MLB and its Clubs have contributed approximately $20 million to the Jackie Robinson Foundation, including supporting college scholarships for more than 150 JRF scholars.
TRAILBLAZER SERIES 每 The weekend prior to Jackie Robinson Day, MLB along with USA Baseball is hosting the 2025 Trailblazer Series at Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla. This annual youth baseball experience for young girls, ages 13 and under from across the nation and Canada, is a three-day instructional and developmental event, which has been held in conjunction with Jackie Robinson Day since it*s 2017 launch.
A special PLAY BALL event at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex (JRTC) featured a celebration of Jackie Robinson Day, featuring hundreds of children from throughout Indian River County,
MLB ID TOUR 每 Additionally in advance of the special day, MLB conducted its annual 18-city MLB ID Tour in Washington D.C. and the Bronx with the goal of discovering the best athletes in under-served communities to invite them to future baseball development programs, such as the Breakthrough Series, DREAM Series or Hank Aaron Invitational, many of which will be held at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex.

For The Kids 每 Printable education activities aimed at providing kids information on Jackie*s life and legacy will be found at MLBTogether.com/42. This includes fun activities such as word scramble, word search and coloring pages.
Nike RBI Day at Jackie Robinson Museum 每 Participants of local Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) programs and their families will have an opportunity to visit the Jackie Robinson Museum in NYC on Tuesday, April 15th and learn about Robinson*s legacy in fun ways with JRF and MLB staff. Special guests for the day include Commissioner Manfred and Rachel Robinson, along with MLB Network Talent Harold Reynolds and Commissioner*s Ambassador Program members and former New York Yankees Pitchers Dellin Betances and 2025 first-ballet Hall of Fame inductee CC Sabathia.

Arizona Diamondbacks 每 The Arizona Diamondbacks will proudly host their annual Jackie Robinson Day and honor Jackie Robinson*s legacy on April 22 at Chase Field. The team will welcome special guests and community groups who embody Jackie's spirit of resilience, courage, and leadership to uplift Black voices and stories. Pregame recognitions include the Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year and JR42 Jr. RBI Outreach Clinic, the National Anthem and Lift Every Voice and Sing performed by The Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, and a ceremonial first pitch from Gizette Knight of Shining Light Foundation. Gizette*s visionary leadership created the Black History Matters Mural Project, honoring Black excellence nationwide. NASCAR Track President, Latasha Causey will serve as the team*s Honorary Captain for the day. In 2022, Latasha made history as the first African American female to serve as a NASCAR track president and is redefining what leadership looks like in the sport. Additionally, the team, in collaboration with The Player*s Alliance, hosted an immersive D-backs camp for members of the Boys & Girls Club and BASE Arizona, focused on playing the Jackie Robinson Way. A total of 75 players attended the camp and each received a baseball gear and a ticket to the D-backs April 22 game.
Atlanta Braves 每 The Atlanta Braves will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on Friday, April 18 at Truist Park as the team takes on the Minnesota Twins. In honor of the life and legacy of Jackie Robinson, the Braves will host over 60 kids and their chaperones from the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club in Cairo, Georgia, the birthplace of Jackie Robinson, for a special day of activities and celebration at Truist Park. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to participate in a pregame ceremony in Truist Park and stand in line with Atlanta Braves players during the National Anthem. Atlanta Braves Jackie Robinson Scholar Carrington Jones, Georgia native and current freshman at Duke University, will also be in attendance for celebrations on this day. Additional activities to celebrate and honor this day will be announced at a later date by the Atlanta Braves.
Boston Red Sox 每 In commemoration of the 78th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball*s color barrier, Red Sox players and coaches will continue MLB*s tradition of wearing blue ※42§ jersey numbers. Earlier this year, the Boston Red Sox paid tribute to Jackie Robinson with a ※Celebration of Life§ on January 31, what would have been the 106th birthday for the Hall of Famer. Now in its 22nd year, the event included a visit from Red Sox alumni Chico Walker, Mike Cameron, and World Series Champion Jackie Bradley, Jr. with students at Joseph Plouffe Academy in Brockton, MA, to speak about Robinson*s impact on Major League Baseball and his connection to the Boston Red Sox. The event was also attended by Jackie Robinson Foundation Vice President of Community Engagements and Partnerships Ivo Philbert, Red Sox Vice President/Club Counsel and Red Sox Hall of Fame Inductee Elaine Steward, and Red Sox Foundation Executive Director Bekah Salwasser; both Steward and Salwasser are Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars.
Chicago White Sox 每 The White Sox will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on Tuesday, April 15, honoring baseball*s trailblazers and empowering the next generation of leaders in the classroom, on the field and beyond. Activations include:
- Jackie Robinson Student Contest: The organization invited local youth to create original artworks that celebrate former Negro Leagues greats and Black baseball pioneers. Young artists submitted powerful tributes to unsung heroes who shaped the sport*s legacy, and all participants received tickets to the game and an invitation to join a pregame parade on the warning track. Three grand-prize winners earned a VIP suite experience and will be recognized during a special pregame ceremony.
- ACE &Take the Field*: Student-athletes from the Sox Amateur City Elite (ACE) program 〞 which works to reverse declining interest and participation in baseball among Black youth 〞 will take the field alongside the club*s starting lineup. The group will then join in announcing ※Play Ball§ to open the game.
- Art Collaboration: Former Sox second baseman and renowned multi-disciplinary artist Micah Johnson will lead a creative session with a group of ACE players during the game, guiding participants in designing custom hat patches to be worn during their tournaments over the Juneteenth holiday weekend. The session also will explore Robinson*s legacy as a trailblazer and themes such as Black liberation.
- NABJ Suite Outing: The White Sox will welcome members of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and more than two dozen students for a mentorship event held during the game in a ballpark suite. The experience will include one-on-one conversations, career insights, networking and more.
- Front Office Negro Leagues Tour: Leading up to Tuesday*s celebration, Sox front office staff participated in a South Side tour with Chicago historian Shermann "Dilla" Thomas. The group learned about legendary Black baseball players while visiting historic homes tied to figures such as Mabel Banks, Andrew ※Rube§ Foster and Robert S. Abbott, founder of the Chicago Defender. Cincinnati Reds 每 The Cincinnati Reds will honor Jackie Robinson Day on April 15th at Great American Ball Park in a number of ways including a special #42 patch giveaway for fans in attendance presented by Network for Hope. Additionally, Roosevelt Barnes, head baseball coach at Wilberforce University (a historically Black university in Wilberforce, Ohio) will throw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the matchup against the Seattle Mariners, while Kathy Wade, CEO of Learning Through Art, Inc., will be honored pregame with the African American Community Advocate Award, presented by PNC. Prior to Jackie Robinson Day, the Reds will host the following events at P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy on Saturday, April 12:
- Joe Morgan Classic: HBCUs Wilberforce University and Dillard University will compete in the annual Joe Morgan Classic. Players will wear authentic Negro League uniforms in tribute.
- HBCU College Fair: Representatives from the following Historically Black College and Universities will participate in a college fair: Central State University, Fisk University, Hampton University, Jackson State University, North Carolina A&T State University, Southern University, Tuskegee University, University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, Wilberforce University, Savannah State University.
- High School Showcase Games: As part of the Skyline Chili Reds Futures High Showcase presented by PNC, Cincinnati Public Schools baseball and softball teams will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day with six games. All participating players will receive a special ※42§ shirt and a black Nike cap.
Detroit Tigers 每 The Detroit Tigers are on the road on Jackie Robinson Day, so the team will celebrate when they return home to Detroit on April 17 with a Jackie Robinson Day ※Breaking Barriers§ Panel at Comerica Park for 42 local high school athletes. The "Breaking Barriers" educational panel will feature a diverse group of Detroit sports professionals from Ilitch Sports + Entertainment (Tigers and Detroit Red Wings), as well as the Lions, Pistons and Motor City Cruise, providing background on their careers and the path they took to become successful. In the spirit of educating youth on Jackie Robinson*s nine values (courage, determination, commitment, persistence, integrity, justice, teamwork, citizenship, and excellence), panelists will discuss their careers and the influence Jackie 每 and other individuals that they know 每 have had on their development personally and professionally. Prior to the panel, attendees will be invited to watch Batting Practice and are expected to meet with Tigers personnel.
Houston Astros 每 The Houston Astros will host a Breaking Barriers Forum on Friday, April 18, where current Astros players, coaches, alums and executives will share their experience in breaking barriers and the importance of Jackie Robinson's nine values to success (Courage, Determination, Teamwork, Persistence, Integrity, Citizenship, Justice, Commitment and Excellence) with 50 high school Astros Youth Academy players. In addition, all 340 Astros Youth Academy Nike Jr. RBI Baseball/Softball League players will be invited to attend the game on Friday, April 18 against the San Diego Padres.
Kansas City Royals 每 This Jackie Robinson Day the Kansas City Royals will invite students from local public and charter high schools to the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy to participate in a roundtable discussion featuring a diverse group of employees from the Royals* front office. This special event will include an optional resume review opportunity, a wiffle ball game, and a tour of the nearby Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.
Los Angeles Angels 每 The Angels Baseball Foundation is hosting their 5th annual ※Angels JR42 Clinic, Presented by Nike§ on Tuesday, April 15th. Taking place on Jackie Robinson Day at the Anaheim Family YMCA Community Complex, the clinic will provide an outlet for children in Anaheim and the surrounding community to participate in a youth baseball and softball event to learn more about Jackie Robinson*s impact on the game and society. Approximately 75-100 pre-registered children, aged 6-12, will participate in a station-rotation event, learning skills such as: hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunning and the mental focus necessary to be an athlete and succeed in life. Orange County Health Care Agency, an Angels partner, will provide games and activities at one of the stations to teach the kids teamwork, leadership and confidence, all skills shared by the clinic*s namesake, Jackie Robinson. Each child participant will receive an Angels hat and t-shirt.
Los Angeles Dodgers 每 In advance of Jackie Robinson Day on Saturday, April 12th the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will host a coaches training at Dodger Stadium. This special training and Coaches Playbook curriculum is deeply rooted in Jackie*s Nine Values. Approximately 200 of the coaches who participated in the training will be in attendance of the game on Jackie Robinson Day, April 15th while 150 Jackie Robinson Foundation Alumni and 10 LADF/ Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) Scholars will be in attendance to celebrate the special day. As tradition, the 10 LADF/JRF Scholars will participate in a special Jackie Robinson Day tour highlighting new stories revolving around Jackie Robinson and those that helped him along the way. Additionally, the Dodgers will host a career panel with ERGs which will focus on the insights of sport focused career paths. On Jackie Robinson Day at Dodger Stadium, LADF/JRF alumni, scholars, and Jackie*s family will be celebrated on-field ahead of the game. On Tuesday, the Dodgers will also welcome third grade students of Aveson Charter School in Pasadena to a special Jackie Robinson panel session and workshop in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. The event will feature Jerry Hairston, who will speak to the students about Jackie Robinson*s incredible impact on baseball and civil rights. Following the discussion, the students will enjoy a fun and interactive Jackie Robinson trivia game, designed to reinforce the lessons learned during the session. In addition, students will have the exciting opportunity to take photos with the Dodgers' World Series trophy, making this educational experience even more memorable. Finally on Tuesday afternoon, the Dodgers and the visiting Colorado Rockies will participate in a pre-game reflection at the Jackie Robinson statue to discuss Robinson*s continued impact on today*s game. Every player around the league will wear a Dodger blue No. 42 on their jersey as the iconic number continues to be the only number retired across all 30 ball clubs. Proceeds from LADF*s 50/50 raffle and online auction on Jackie Robinson Day will go toward benefiting the Jackie Robinson Foundation to help support their efforts in addressing the financial needs of minority college students and providing extensive, hands-on mentoring and support services. Miami Marlins 每 As part of the organization*s on-going efforts to celebrate the life and legacy of Hall of Famer and civil rights activist Jackie Robinson, the Miami Marlins will host numerous activities and events centered around Jackie. The celebration began with the fourth annual Jackie Robinson Classic presented by NIKE, which featured two local high school baseball teams 每 Homestead High and North Miami Beach High 每 taking the field at loanDepot park on Wednesday, April 9. The student-athletes received customized Marlins shirts with the number 42 on the back along with one of Jackie*s nine values. The South Florida community, including the school bands and spirit squads, were in the stands in support of and to cheer on the teams. On Jackie Robinson Day - Tuesday, April 15, the Marlins will celebrate the life and legacy of Jackie at loanDepot park as the club faces the Arizona Diamondbacks at 6:40 p.m. In addition to Marlins players and coaches wearing Jackie*s number 42, the organization will highlight Jackie*s impact on society through his nine values. Student athletes from Homestead High and North Miami Beach High will join members from the 5000 Role Models of Excellence, a dropout prevention, mentoring program for minority male students, for a panel discussion. Then the group will head to the field for a pre-game ceremony and join the Marlins players and coaches for the national anthem. Additionally, Marlins players will visit Lenora B. Smith Elementary on Jackie Robinson Day to lead an educational activity about Jackie*s life and legacy followed by a hands-on activity where the kids will not only learn Jackie*s values but be able to recognize how he demonstrated those characteristics throughout his life.
Milwaukee Brewers 每 The Milwaukee Brewers are celebrating Jackie Robinson Day with the Jackie Robinson Art Challenge for Wisconsin youth ages 8-17 who are invited to create original artwork that embodies the enduring values of Jackie Robinson. The top three artists will receive recognition at American Family Field on April 15th, with their artwork showcased on the Brewers scoreboard. The Grand Prize winner will have the opportunity of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.
Minnesota Twins 每 The Minnesota Twins will honor and celebrate Jackie Robinson*s enduring impact on our game and society through in-ballpark activations at Target Field and on the club*s digital platforms. Prior to their home game that evening against the New York Mets, the Twins will spotlight the Twins Nike RBI program with an on-field ceremony celebrating the talented student-athletes from the Gerry Gamble Boys & Girls Club and the dedicated players from the North Commons RBI team, the 15U Twins Nike RBI champions and the 18U Twins Nike RBI champions. A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by 72-year-old Carl Rogan, a veteran of the United States Air Force and grandson of Charles Wilber ※Bullet Joe§ Rogan, who was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998. The National Anthem will be performed by Twin Cities-area positive alternative pop all-sibling group Nunnabove. During the game, all fans will be welcome to visit the UnitedHealthcare Suite level at Target Field for a special tour of an art gallery celebrating the Negro Leagues and Black Baseball Across Twins Territory; the tour will be led by Frank White, a noted Minnesota Black Baseball historian, author of ※They Played for the Love of the Game: Untold Stories of Black Baseball in Minnesota§ and longtime Twins Nike RBI Coordinator. Lastly, team social platforms will share a video of Twins infielder Royce Lewis reflecting on Jackie Robinson*s impact on his own life and career.
New York Mets 每 In honor of Jackie Robinson*s legacy, the New York Mets will host their second annual Black Legacy Game presented by Nike on Thursday, April 17 at Citi Field. There will be a pre-game party on the Mets Plaza featuring DJ Herb and Mr. and Mrs. Met. Kwame Onwuachi, the owner and chef of Tatiana in New York City, whose newest concept, Patty Palace, is now available within the Hudson Whiskey Club and Clover Home Plate Club at Citi Field, will throw out the first pitch to Mets Hall of Famer Darryl Strawberry. The National Anthem will be performed by Valerie Boyd, and Lift Every Voice will be performed by Sharifa Lubin, Juanita Guinyard and Lenny VanCooten. DJ Webstar will be the night*s DJ, performing pre-game and in-game sets in the ballpark. The Jackie Robinson Museum will be hosting in-game activities for fans, including a scavenger hunt for the chance to win special prizes.
New York Yankees 每 On Jackie Robinson Day at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees will host the New York Urban League*s (NYUL) landmark Equity Summit〞 a powerful convergence of legacy and action. The Yankees have been a partner and ally in NYUL's education and employment initiatives for 40 years, and holding this event on Jackie Robinson Day, further acknowledges the enduring impact of his courage and commitment. For over a century, the NYUL has championed civil rights and worked tirelessly to advance equity for African Americans in New York City. This Summit builds on that legacy, empowering leaders from across sectors to connect, collaborate, and drive meaningful change. Participants will engage in facilitated workshops, insightful panel discussions, and interactive sessions focused on developing actionable solutions for a more inclusive and equitable future.
Philadelphia Phillies 每 At noon on April 15, the Phillies will participate in a Jackie Robinson Day Celebration, also honoring the Philadelphia Stars, at the Miller Parker Philadelphia Stars Negro League Memorial Park in West Philadelphia. This year marks the 20th year since the first Jackie Robinson Day in West Parkside and the unveiling of the park. Special guests include Phillies alum and Hall of Famer Ferguson ※Fergie§ Jenkins, whose 284 wins are the most by a Black pitcher in major league history, 1993 NL champion and 2008 World Series coach Milt Thompson, 1983 NLCS MVP Gary ※Sarge§ Matthews and 1980 World Series champion Dickie Noles, along with the Phanatic and Phillies Ballgirls. The Phillies will also celebrate the life and legacy of Jackie Robinson during an on-field tribute prior to that night*s game against the Giants at Citizens Bank Park. Highlights include a ceremonial first pitch by Jenkins, who is also featured in the Phillies ※Pioneers in Pinstripes§ display (located in the ballpark*s Cadillac Hall of Fame Club), and the national anthem will be sung by Jillian Patricia Pirtle from the Marian Anderson Foundation. Additionally, the club will honor their 2025 Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar, Zachary Onsinyo, a sophomore attending the University of Pennsylvania, as well as their Jackie Robinson Phillies Charities, Inc. Grant recipient, Jordan Thompson, who is a Phillies Nike RBI athlete and Southeast Youth Athletic Association member.
San Diego Padres 每 To honor the life and legacy of Jackie Robinson and the Padres* own Johnny Ritchey 每 who broke the color barrier in the Pacific Coast League for the minor league Padres in 1948 每 the Padres will partner with SDG&E and the ※Going to Bat for San Diego Program§ to host the fourth annual Breaking Barriers Forum prior to Tuesday*s game on April 15. Breaking Barriers is an educational panel that will feature three panelists sharing their experiences about overcoming life*s obstacles in front of an audience of high school students. During Tuesday*s pregame ceremony on April 15, the Padres and the California Masonic Foundation will present 10 Johnny Ritchey Breaking Barriers Scholarships valued at $10,000 each to local high school seniors who have overcome obstacles in their young lives in their pursuit of higher education. Beginning April 15 through May 31, the Padres and the California Masonic Foundation have partnered to bring an installation from the Negro League Museum exhibit to the San Diego Downtown Library, which includes information about Johnny Ritchey and highlights his contribution to the game of baseball.
St. Louis Cardinals 每 In conjunction with MLB*s league-wide celebration commemorating the 78th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking baseball*s color barrier, players and coaches will continue the tradition of wearing blue ※42§ jersey numbers. The Cardinals will hold a pregame ceremony recognizing local Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholar Austin Scott, a senior attending Washington University in St. Louis double majoring in Finance and Computer Science, with a ceremonial first pitch. Cardinals sponsor, CommunityAmerica and Cardinals Care will present a check to the Jackie Robinson Foundation in support of JRF*s scholarship program with JRF alum April Lewis and local scholar David French. Educational activities about Jackie Robinson will also be available for kids in Ford Plaza.
Tampa Bay Rays 每 In advance of Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, the Tampa Bay Rays will partner with The Players Alliance and Belmont Heights Little League to host a free Community Catch Baseball Clinic open to the public at the Little League on Sunday, April 13th. The Players Alliance is a nonprofit organization founded by current and former professional baseball players, aiming to address systemic barriers to equity and inclusion in baseball by creating opportunities for Black talent on and off the field. Belmont Heights Little League is a storied youth league, started in 1968 in a historically Black neighborhood in East Tampa. Its teams have produced dozens of major leaguers, including Dwight Gooden and Gary Sheffield, as well as several championship titles at various levels. The league currently fields nearly 30 teams and serves more than 300 boys and girls.
On April 15, the Rays will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day with a number of activations including:
- National Anthem and Lift Every Voice and Sing: Performed by Adrienne Clark with American Sign Language by Haylie Tucker
- Ceremonial First Pitch: Thrown by civil rights activist, attorney and former State Senator Arthenia Joyner
- Kids Take the Field: In partnership with Nike, nine players from Belmont Heights Little League will be recognized for exemplifying Jackie Robinson*s nine core values and will join Rays players on the field for the national anthem. Robinson*s nine values include: courage, determination, teamwork, persistence, integrity, citizenship, justice, commitment and excellence.
- In-Game Recognition: The Rays will present a video recap of The Players Alliance baseball clinic held for Belmont Heights Little League. Participants from the clinic will be attending the game with complimentary tickets from The Player*s Alliance.
The Rays will recognize Best Source Consulting as its Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner. - Special Guests: The Rays will host students from the Poynter Institute*s Write Field Program, a writing and mentoring program for African American and Hispanic young men from middle and high schools in Pinellas and Hillsborough County. The children will have a chance to interview Rays and community leaders for an article to be published in the Tampa Bay Times.
The Rays will recognize Best Source Consulting as their Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner.
Additionally, the Rays will recognize their 2025 Jackie Robinson Grant recipients with a check presentation. The Jackie Robinson Grant is awarded to organizations who reflect Jackie Robinson*s nine core values. Each of the five organizations will receive $20,000 from the Rays Baseball Foundation and Rowdies Soccer Fund. This year*s recipient organizations are:

Texas Rangers 每 To honor Jackie Robinson Day, student athletes from the Texas Rangers Youth Academy will wear commemorative 42 jerseys and lineup on the field during the national anthem. In addition, The Rangers will host various city and community leaders for the matchup vs. The Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night.
Toronto Blue Jays 每 The Blue Jays will honour Jackie Robinson and his impact on sport and society through a variety of integrations, including acknowledgement pregame in stadium and gameday assets (story content, lineup, and recap). All of the team*s in-game ※#42§ items (player jerseys/hats/socks, commemorative bases, and lineup card) will be authenticated and auctioned, with proceeds supporting Jays Care Foundation baseball programming for kids across Canada.
Washington Nationals 每 In recognition of Jackie Robinson Day, Scholar Athletes at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, the signature program of Nationals Philanthropies, will honor Robinson*s legacy with classroom and on-field activities across all core programs during the week of April 15. Additionally, from April 25 through May 2, fans will have the opportunity to bid on autographed, game-worn Nationals jerseys from Jackie Robinson Day at nats.com/JRD. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation and Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.
CAPITAL ONE 每 Since becoming the Official Bank and Credit Card Partner of Major League Baseball in 2022, and establishing the Capital One Walk-Off program, Capital One has committed over $1,000,000 to the Jackie Robinson Foundation in support of its programs. Returning for the 2025 season, Capital One is supporting JRF and donating $1,000 for each ※Capital One Walk-Off§ (game-winning play) this year, committing to a total donation of $250,000 for the season.
GAMING 每 Major League Baseball*s award-winning video game franchise MLB The Show will continue to support the legacy of Jackie Robinson through different playable game modes, experience the unique moment of wearing the custom uniform that our clubs wear to support Jackie Robinson Day and so much more. Sony Interactive Entertainment and San Diego Studio will once again sell a Jackie Robinson Foundation Pack that will support the JRF/MLB The Show Scholars program, supported by PlayStation Career Pathways Program, to help reduce the achievement gap in higher education.

MLB NETWORK & MLB.com 每 MLB Network and MLB.com will highlight Jackie Robinson related programming and content throughout Jackie Robinson Day. MLB.com and all 30 Club sites will have extensive editorial content and coverage highlighting each team's special connection with Jackie, as well as special features that explore his impact as a baseball pioneer and his influence over today's players.
Additionally, MLB Network*s Harold Reynolds will report from The Jackie Robinson Museum in New York City on MLB Network*s newly Emmy-nominated MLB Central (10 a.m. ET) and again on the Emmy-winning MLB Tonight: National Pregame Show (5 p.m. ET). As part of the MLB Tonight coverage from Studio 42, Reynolds will interview five MLB Develops alumni 每 who are now all Division 1 baseball players and wear # 42 in honor of Robinson, including Alton Davis II (Univ. of Georgia), Troy Sanders (Grand Canyon Univ.), RJ Austin (Vanderbilt Univ.), Oliver Service (Univ. of Texas) and Eddie King Jr. (Louisville).
SOCIAL MEDIA 每 MLB Social Media platforms in both English and Spanish will demonstrate the many ways Jackie inspired baseball and society including his career with the Brooklyn Dodgers, his character and what he represented throughout his life. Highlights include custom illustrations, collages, classic Jackie Robinson highlights and infographics.
JACKIE ROBINSON TRAINING COMPLEX
Formerly the Spring Training home of the Dodgers, the now MLB operated, Jackie Robinson Training Complex located in Vero Beach, Florida will host a Minor League affiliate game at the complex between the Clearwater Threshers and the Palm Beach Cardinals in historic Holman Stadium where Jackie once played. The game will take place on Jackie Robinson Day with gates opening at 5 p.m. ET and first pitch at 6:42 p.m. ET. The event, hosted by MLB, the Jackie Robinson Training Complex and the United Way of Indian River County, aims to celebrate Robinson*s groundbreaking impact, unite the community, and raises funds to support vital programs and services in Indian River County.
JACKIE ROBINSON DAY BACKGROUND
Robinson played his first Major League game at Ebbets Field on April 15, 1947, as a first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Major League Baseball has celebrated Jackie Robinson*s legacy in an extensive and unified League-wide show of support over the years, including retiring his number throughout the Majors in 1997, dedicating April 15th as Jackie Robinson Day each year since 2004, and requesting that every player and all on-field personnel wear his Number 42 during games scheduled on Jackie Robinson Day since 2009.
