Red Sox Set 2025 Major League Coaching Staff
BOSTON, MA -- The Boston Red Sox today set their 2025 Major League coaching staff:
Alex Cora (Manager), Ram¨®n V¨¢zquez (Bench Coach), Andrew Bailey (Pitching Coach), Pete Fatse (Hitting Coach), Ben Rosenthal (Assistant Hitting Coach), Kyle Hudson (Third Base Coach/Outfield Instructor), and Charlie Madden (Bullpen Catcher) will resume their roles on the staff.
Jason Varitek will serve as Game Planning and Run Prevention Coach.
Jos¨¦ Flores has been named First Base Coach/Infield Instructor.
Parker Guinn has been hired as Catching Instructor/Bullpen Catcher.
Chris Holt was named Bullpen Coach on November 14, 2024.
Dillon Lawson was named Assistant Hitting Coach on October 27, 2024.
Flores, 53, spent the past three seasons (2022-24) as Bench Coach for Triple-A Worcester. This will be his third stint on a Major League coaching staff, having previously spent one season as First Base Coach for the Philadelphia Phillies (2018) and two seasons as Third Base Coach for the Baltimore Orioles (2019-20), also serving as the infield coach for both clubs. Prior to joining the Phillies, Flores spent five seasons (2013-17) as Infield Coordinator in the Chicago Cubs organization.
Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Flores began his coaching career in 2001. He has worked in a variety of roles on coaching staffs in the Puerto Rican Winter League, as well as for Team Puerto Rico in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Flores has also served as a manager for several clubs, including Cleveland¡¯s Dominican Summer League team, the Cidra Braves of the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation, the Puerto Rico National Baseball Team, and Santurce.
Selected by Houston in the 38th round of the 1990 First-Year Player Draft, Flores played in 421 minor league games as a utility infielder in the Astros organization from 1990-94, reaching the Double-A level in his final season.
Guinn, 31, spent the past two seasons (2023-24) in the New York Yankees organization as a manager in the Dominican Summer League. He has also served as an assistant coach at the University of Washington (2022-23), head coach at Everett Community College (2021-22), assistant coach at the University of Utah (2017-21), graduate assistant coach at the University of Washington (2016-17), and assistant coach at Southern Illinois Edwardsville University (SIEU) during the 2015-16 academic year.
Born in Las Vegas, Guinn played baseball at the University of Washington from 2012-14 before transferring to SIEU for his senior year. He owns a bachelor¡¯s degree in communications with a minor in business administration from SIEU and received a master¡¯s degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University. Guinn attended Gig Harbor (Wash.) High School.
