The only thing worse than striking out is striking out while getting nutmegged
Major League hitters know their strike zone better than they do their mother. They train their whole lives to recognize a pitch in a split second, figuring out its spin and trajectory and whether it will wind up in their hitting zone.
Still, baseball is hard and pitchers are very good, so of course guys are fooled all the time. Case in point: Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander just got completely flummoxed by the Rays' Charlie Morton, as he swung on a pitch that split his legs. This is just a few steps away from a Looney Tunes cartoon where Santander then is spun around and falls into a giant perfectly-placed puddle of mud.

That's the best nutmeg you're going to see outside of the Women's World Cup.
Did anybody just see that nutmeg in the women¡¯s USA-England game?!? If not, here you go pic.twitter.com/q44fLsDQM9
