Bo Bichette hit the kind of opposite-field homer that would make his slugging father proud

Blue Jays fans got to experience an exciting glimpse of their possible future on Thursday night, when a split-squad team that featured both Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette beat the Pirates, 5-4. Guerrero and Bichette had two hits apiece, but it was Bo who grabbed the headlines thanks to an opposite-field blast in the top of the seventh.
The dinger was no easy feat, as it came off dominant Pirates closer Felipe Rivero. He only allowed four homers during the entire 2017 season before throwing a 97-mph heater. And yet:

That's some eye-opening, opposite-field power.
We shouldn't be too surprised, though. MLB Pipeline ranked Bichette the 13th-best prospect in baseball, and like Guerrero, he has strong baseball ties from his father, Dante Bichette.
The elder Bichette clubbed 274 long balls during his 14-year career, topping out at 40 in 1995. He led the National League in homers that year and on his final dinger, he showed off the opposite-field swing that his son would later inherit:
