D-backs announcers celebrate Star Wars Day with full stormtrooper/Chewbacca costumes
The Diamondbacks were looking to complete their sweep of the Cubs at Chase Field on Sunday, but most fans left their brooms at home, opting instead to tote their light sabers around as a part of the team's Star Wars Day celebraish.
Fans who purchased special tickets were rewarded with a Josh Collmenter Jedi Bobblehead that probably would have earned a prized spot on Dwight Schrute's desk if only the Assistant to the Regional Manager had been lucky enough to procure such an item.
Around the ballpark, fans dressed up and broke out the Star Wars signage while, in the booth, D-backs play-by-play announcer Steve Berthiaume got into the spirit of things with a full-on stormtrooper outfit. His partner in crime Bob Brenly donned a Chewbacca costume.
Never grow up, guys. The D-backs faithful were also getting into the act in a major way, coming to the yard dressed as:
