This Division III second baseman dove headfirst into the tarp to make an insane catch
You know when you see something you're afraid of and you avoid it? Say a shark fin in the ocean, a spider in the corner of your bedroom or a hot dog without ketchup?
Well, Randolph-Macon second baseman Jeff Butler fears none of these things. He embraces the danger. He hitches a ride on the fins of Great Whites, he welcomes spiders to build webs in his ear canals, he eats hot dogs without ketchup by the dozens and emphatically calls them sandwiches.
And during a Pool A Division III championship game against Texas-Tyler on Monday night, he went sprinting after a pop fly with no regard for the giant, rolled-up tarp down the first-base line:
