Josh Collmenter taught a class on physics during D-backs' Spring Training

Class was in session in the D-backs' clubhouse early Tuesday morning, and Josh Collmenter was doing the teaching.
The quirky right-hander taught a class that dealt with Einstein, Archimedes and other scientific theories while 10 or so of his teammates sat on chairs around him.

"We were sitting around talking about some history stuff and [I was] like, 'I'm just going to start teaching you guys things,'" Collmenter said. "We just pick random topics, and if anyone has a suggestion, we'll talk about that. It's not always going to be as in-depth as this, but it sort of expounded upon what we did the first day. I think tomorrow's lesson will be a little more, not so practical, but a little more light-hearted I think."
Collmenter is a voracious reader and now has an outlet for the knowledge he has gleaned over the years.
"It makes me have to read some things, some articles or science journals or whatever," Collmenter said. "Some of the stuff I have off the top of my head and I know where certain things came from, but it's fun to get some specifics so I know I'm actually saying the right things instead of the things I thought I knew in my head."

The lessons are open to any of his teammates, staff or media wishing to attend.
"We should see if the University of Phoenix can come in and sanction some of these," Collmenter said.
Or, dare we suggest, he start his own Josh Collmenter University?
