Backflips aren't new to baseball. Ozzie Smith did one nearly every day, and Twins Minor Leaguer Dusten Knight busts out the move every time he nails down a save.
But very few players have gone where Kenji Akashi of Japan's SoftBank Hawks just went. Not only did he do a backflip -- he did a backflip onto home plate after crushing a walk-off dinger:
