Kyle Wright's family and friends mobbed him after the Braves drafted him No. 5 overall

With the fifth pick of the 2017 MLB Draft, the Braves selected college pitcher Kyle Wright. He was a somewhat-familiar face for the organization, having played alongside Dansby Swanson at Vanderbilt in 2015, when the shortstop was the D-backs' top pick of that year's Draft (prior to his trade to the Braves).
Once Wright and everyone around him heard the news, the room went crazy.

Reuniting with Swanson is exciting, but that's not the only reason why Wright's family, friends and teammates went nuts. Wright grew up in Huntsville, Ala., well within Braves fan territory, and he was no exception.

The people who mobbed him were essential to Wright's success, and he knew it. "It was almost like I wasn't expecting anything at all, because to actually hear your name called is really special," he said to MLB.com's Mark Bowman. "There are a lot of people to thank who have helped me get where I am today."
If Wright makes it through the Minors, he is certain to have a huge Huntsville fan club at his SunTrust Park debut.
