Mo'ne Davis whiffs Jimmy Fallon on 'The Tonight Show'
Mo'ne Davis whiffs Jimmy Fallon
It's official: Mo'ne Davis could be the supreme ruler of the United States if she wanted to be. Fortunately, she seems pretty content playing baseball and basketball.
After becoming the first girl to throw a shutout in the Little League World Series qualifier and the actual Little League World Series, Davis has been touring the country with everyone wanting to see the 13-year-old pitcher in action. After being honored by the Phillies and hanging out with the Dodgers, even giving Yasiel Puig an autograph, Davis stopped by Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show.
Along with her Taney Dragons catcher Scott Bandura, Davis squared off against Fallon in a wiffle ball pitch off. In the 10 pitch contest, with every strike counting as a point for Davis and every hit being a point for the host -- well, let's just say that if this was a real ballgame, Fallon would have been pinch hit for pretty quickly.
In the end, Davis even decided that she needed more of the inside corner and buzzed the comedian off the plate. While her curveball is like Kershaw's and her fastball is her own, I think her mound presence may be Bob Gibson's.
