Pedro Martinez thinks David Ortiz is ready for a comeback and knows a team that could use him
Since pretty much the moment David Ortiz's final game ended, Red Sox fans have speculated about his coming out of retirement. (That's what happens when you put up possibly the greatest swan song in history, after all.)
As his teammate for years and fellow curse-breaker-in-crime, Pedro Martinez knows Big Papi better than just about anyone. And while he's not claiming that Ortiz is planning a comeback, he is saying that he could if he wanted to. You know, hypothetically:
Big Papi is working out, and I know he is in baseball shape, and the @RedSox could use a bit of his bat.

He later clarified that he was just speculating:
I didn't say David is making a come back, I said David is in baseball shape because he works out, and the team could use a swing or two.

Cryptic tweets aside, however, Papi seems OK where he is:
David Ortiz, tonight, when asked if he has regrets: ¡°No, not at all man, I¡¯m happy¡±

On lack of power: ¡°It¡¯s going to happen at some point" https://t.co/UwOqAmWxsq
With rumor mills like this, who needs Hot Stove Season?
