Josh Bell responded to an Onion article with a joke of his own

The nature of first impressions is that you don't get a second chance to make them. For a rookie first baseman, the anxiety of that logical truth can be crippling. One's reputation for an entire career can be smeared by a bad joke or unintentionally insulting comment.
Luckily for Pirates rookie first baseman Josh Bell, he has a tried-and-true icebreaking joke.

Undoubtedly, some athletes would take offense to being portrayed as socially anxious, even by publications like The Onion. Far from being offended, Bell took the humor in stride and even contributed some of his own. It's a lucky player who gets to hang out with Bell at first.
