Steven Souza Jr. was mic'd up, and provided us with some very entertaining commentary

For Mother's Day, Major League Baseball gave us some awesome moments with the baseball world dedicating a few moments to some special women. Another treat was when outfielder Steven Souza Jr. was mic'd up -- and the commentary was too good.

He had some assistance, of course, prior to the Nats' 6-4 win over the D-backs on Sunday night. Teammate Chris Owings shouted into the microphone on Souza's jersey in hopes his mom in South Carolina could hear him. "I don't think you have to yell though," Souza told Owings. Paul Goldschmidt couldn't help but laugh:

He also officially met Trea Turner, who was acquired by the Nats in a three-team trade involving Souza in 2015, and told Turner he loved the way he played the game. And in between innings, Souza had some fun with umpire Joe West:

In true Mother's Day fashion, Souza couldn't forget about the women in his life, including his wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. He even suggested there should be more than a day dedicated to these ladies -- how about an entire year?
