A Jayson Werth foul landed in Vin Scully's booth, so he gifted it to a lucky Dodgers fan
It was a wild Wednesday night at Chavez Ravine, in a game the Dodgers took from the Nats, 4-3, after a rather unexpected walk-off Little League homer by Yasiel Puig plated Howie Kendrickand Puig himself.
A few innings earlier, Adrian Gonzalez and Chase Utleyteamed up for an unexpected but awe-inspiring juggling session in pursuit of a foul popup, but there was actually something else that happened in the nine-inning game that warrants a special shout-out.
In the top of the ninth, Pedro Baez was locked in a lengthy at-bat against Jayson Werth. Werth fouled one up, and the ball actually landed in Vin Scully's SportsNet LA booth. The legendary announcer then made some Dodgers fan extremely happy by picking up the ball and tossing it down into the seats. Oh, and Scully narrated the entire thing:
Yes, Vin, we agree: It was a great moment in sports. The whole night was, actually.
Legend has it... if Vin throws you a ball, you'll have good luck for 20 years!
