You have to hear this young Phillies fan cheer on Rhys Hoskins and Odubel Herrera
Monday night, right before Rhys Hoskins' at-bat in the bottom of the fifth inning of the Phillies' 3-0 win over the Braves, the microphones on the Phillies' broadcast picked up the sound of an adorable young child chanting an equally adorable Hoskins-related cheer. Unfortunately the kid remained off camera the whole time, but you can hear loud and clear the rhythmic cuteness of "Lets go Rhys, lets go, hit that ball," three times at the outset of the Phillies slugger's at-bat.
Presumably this kid was near the Phillies' on-deck circle because, after concluding the Hoskins cheer, you can hear them try to spark a conversation with outfielder and baseball wonder Odúbel Herrera. After the kid audibly yelled "Hi, Odubel!" a few times, Herrera amazingly responded with a courteous, "Hi there, how are you? Good?"
Long live Odubel Herrera, a man who can get on base 45 games in a row, hit .348 with an absurd leg kick and still find the time to interact with adorable children.
