Photo of the Day: Yuli Gurriel and Yasiel Puig reunite before the World Series
Yuli Gurriel and Yasiel Puig knew each other in Cuba, but they never played on the same team: Puig is seven years younger than Gurriel. The Astros first baseman had already won two Olympic medals (gold and silver in Athens and Beijing, respectively) by the time Puig picked up a bronze medal with the Cuban national team in the 2008 World Junior Baseball Championship.
But they did meet on the diamond back in Cuba. In a 2011 Cuban Serie Nacional game, Gurriel's team, Santi Spiritus, took on Puig's Cienfuegos. Cienfuegos torched Santi Spiritus, 10-4 ... but now, Yuli and Yasiel are facing each other once again. And Yuli thinks he can come out on top this time:
