Spent a majority of 2021 with Class AA Birmingham and Class AAA Charlotte and was on the Sox active roster in September...His contract was selected from Charlotte on 9/1...Made his major-league debut on 9/3 at Kansas City as a pinch hitter...stayed in the game at third base and finished 0-2...Made his first start as the leadoff hitter and third baseman on 9/4 at the Royals...went 0-5 with his first career RBI...Recorded his first MLB hit, a single off Andrew Chafin, as a pinch-hitter in the ninth on 9/8 at Oakland...Set career highs with three hits, two doubles and two runs scored on 9/17 at Texas...Was optioned to Charlotte on 9/21 for the remainder of 2021...Combined to hit .283/.364/.532 (101-357) with 17 doubles, 24 homers, 61 RBI, 43 walks, 61 runs scored, 24 steals and an .896 OPS in 93 games between Birmingham and Charlotte...Ranked among Class AA South leaders in OPS (1st, .856), homers (5th, 20), SLG (2nd, .502) and average (7th, .267)...Was promoted to Charlotte on 8/21...At the time his contract was selected by the White Sox, was one of just seven players in the minor leagues with 20-plus home runs and 20-plus steals...finished the season as one of just 16 minor-leaguers to accomplish the feat.
