Below is a list of every player drafted in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
Each club had until 5 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 1, to come to terms with its Draft selections. If a player has exhausted his collegiate eligibility, he can sign at any time up until one week prior to the next year¡¯s Draft.
First Round
1. Guardians: Travis Bazzana, 2B, Oregon State
Pick value: $10,570,600
Signing bonus: $8,950,000
Cleveland agreed to a deal with this year's No. 1 overall pick for $8.95 million, which is below slot value ($10,570,600). The number also comes in lower than what last year's top selection, Paul Skenes, received from the Pirates: $9.2 million.

2. Reds: Chase Burns, RHP, Wake Forest
Pick value: $9,785,000
Signing bonus: $9,250,000
The Reds signed Burns to a record deal of $9.25 million, sources told MLB.com. That surpassed the $9.2 million that last year's first overall pick, Paul Skenes, received from the Pirates.

3. Rockies: Charlie Condon, OF, Georgia
Pick value: $9,070,800
Signing bonus: $9,250,000
Condon signed with Colorado for the largest Draft bonus in MLB history at $9.25 million. The record deal is tied with what No. 2 pick Chase Burns received from the Reds.

4. Athletics: Nick Kurtz, 1B, Wake Forest
Pick value: $8,370,800
Signing bonus: $7,000,000
Kurtz, who batted .306 with 22 home runs, 57 RBIs and 78 walks for Wake Forest this season while also earning First Team All-ACC honors, signed with Oakland for a below-slot $7 million deal.

5. White Sox: Hagen Smith, LHP, Arkansas

Signing bonus: $8,000,000
Chicago and Smith agreed to the largest bonus for a left-handed pitcher in Draft history, surpassing Brendan McKay's record ($7,005,000) in 2014. Smith set another record during the college season with 17.3 strikeouts per nine innings.

Listed as a two-way player, Caglianone will only hit the rest of this season, first in the Rookie-level Arizona Complex League before a potential promotion to Single-A Columbia. In the fall, Caglianone and the Royals will re-evaluate what the best plan is to potentially hit and pitch.

7. Cardinals: JJ Wetherholt, SS, West Virginia

The Cards agreed with Wetherholt -- considered by some scouts the best pure hitter in this year's Draft class -- to a slightly over-slot deal of $6.9 million, Jonathan Mayo confirmed.

The Angels and Moore agreed to a below-slot deal of $4.99 million. The second baseman served as a driving force in Tennessee's National Championship victory, recording the second cycle in Men's College World Series history in the semifinals.

Pittsburgh agreed to terms with Griffin, the top prep prospect in the Draft, on an above-slot deal. The Gatorade National High School Player of the Year has 30-30 potential and could be an excellent defender at shortstop or in center field.

The Nationals agreed with King to an under-slot deal of $5.15 million. The former D-II standout transferred to Wake Forest in 2024 and posted a .308 batting average in his first taste of ACC baseball.

The switch-pitcher's slot-value signing bonus was the largest given out by Seattle since Emerson Hancock in 2020. Along with second-rounder Ryan Sloan, the duo¡¯s combined bonus of $7.88 million is the most the Mariners have spent on a pair of picks in at least a decade.

San Diego signed Mayfield, a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in Oklahoma, to a deal at slot value. The southpaw's fastball is up to 97 mph, and he features a plus changeup and a slurvy breaking ball that he locates well.
