A ticket to Opening Day at Yankee Stadium would be enough to thrill any young baseball fan. Sitting in the front row behind the right field wall, less than 100 feet from superstar slugger Aaron Judge, would be icing on the cake.
But getting a baseball handed to you by Judge himself? That's beyond anyone's wildest dreams.
The dream came true for one youngster on Thursday as the Yankees opened their 2025 campaign with a win against the Brewers in the Bronx. Between innings, Judge approached the boy wearing a Yankees cap and Yankees jacket and gave him a baseball.
The boy was overcome with emotion, wiping tears from his eyes as he received hugs and cheers from those around him.
Baseball, even on -- and perhaps especially on -- Opening Day, is much more than what's happening on the field. The reigning American League MVP demonstrated that in a heartfelt way on Thursday.
