DETROIT -- Not only has it been tough for the Cubs to score a run, but in the sixth inning, it was difficult for Anthony Rizzo to get out of the batter's box after a home run.
Rizzo launched a first-pitch curveball from the Tigers' Jordan Zimmermann to right to lead off the inning in Tuesday night's 2-1 loss to the Tigers and fell to his knees after the swing. Not to worry, as Rizzo got back to his feet and was able to complete his home run trot.
"The box is pretty slick, pretty rock hard," Rizzo said. "I slipped on my second at-bat, too. On a fastball, my back foot kind of just slid."

Rizzo said his spikes don't get the best grip when the dirt in the batter's box is that hard.
"But it worked," he said.

In the Cubs' four previous games against the Pirates, they scored one run in each game, and each time, it came on a home run. The same happened on Tuesday night.

Rizzo's home run was his 19th of the season and No. 184 in his Cubs career, 11th most in franchise history.
